Ice City of Tor
by Redsand
(graphics for this idea would not
be to hard, as you just make buildings white and place
them inside a cave that is instead of rock, ice, then
add sun gleaming through the ice) Basically sword/mage
quest, if summoning is not possible in this game then
scratch everything I say about a mage.
- city in far north, in an ice glacier/mountain
- not visible from the outside
- Large opening covered in ice you
must attack and break to get open,
- tunnel surrounded by whitish/blue
ice, ground covered in snow for grip
- tunnel ends about 100 yards or so
ahead
- tunnel comes out on an ice platform
above the city, about half way up the tower in the back.
- Ice stairs lead down to the start
of the city, the ground is ice, the cavern seems like
it was developed naturally by water covering the city
and then freezing, but the structures themselves are very
beautifully built, but all white.
- come out in a large cavern surrounded
by ice, sun kind of gleams in so there is only some light,
but has been altered to a bluish surrounding.
- Large pure-white buildings are frozen
into the sides of the ice, the ones that are not have
mist flowing off of them. In the back is a large white
tower with the top frozen onto the top of the cavern,
but seems to go higher.
- Once you get down the stairs walk
20 yards and to the left is a white two-story building.
- Next to that on the left is a 3
story building, the society that lived here before had
very good architecture and built structures of immense
beauty.
- A little farther on to the left
is a small tower that has no walls, but just stairs leading
up to a watch-post, made of white ivory.
- Straight ahead is a 2 story building
with stairs on either side of the building that lead down
to the part of the city 20 feet below, stairs are made
of ivory and go out then curve in to give it a majestic
feel.
- Lots of buildings for about 200
yards, they are all white, and range from 2 stories, to
5 stories.
- At the end are stairs like at the
beginning of lots of old museums in Washington D.C., they
are white of course.
- Stairs go up about 50 to 80 feet
(lots of them), at the top is the large white tower frozen
into the back of the cave and the top of the cave.
- Two big old-English wooden doors
open to a majestic lobby room.
- Inside it is all white, but there
is like a red carpet, the library is like an old library
from the stories you read so it is diverse in color, and
the Straight ahead or two white stairs that curve and
go upwards (the stairs that I mention that curve from
now on start as one wide set of stairs, then split and
one curves left and the other curves right).
- There may be books in the library
you’ll have to search for that will inform you about
the Darkfall World, also on magic, weaponry, and crafting.
Legends and roots to other quests can be found in the
library (great place to learn about DarkFall).
- To the left is a gigantic 4 story
library inside to tower.
- To the right is another large hall
with a small burnt wooden door that seems to have been
destroyed (key aspect).
- Up the stairs is a hallway, the
stairs curve a full 180 degrees so when you reach the
top you are face the direction of the entrance, but on
the second floor.
- To the (right) is a balcony that
is inside the library connected to the second floor of
the library, in the library, the four stories each have
a balcony that goes all the way around the library so
you can get the books, ladders also go to every floor
except the fourth, which ladder has fallen onto the floor,
so that is inaccessible unless from the fourth floor.
So it is possible to access the library from any floor
1 to 4, so the library starts on the 1st floor, and its
ceiling is the fourth floors.
- To the left is a small room with
an old rusty sword mounted on a shrine (key aspect).
- Going straight will lead you down
a very short hall to a second set of curving white stairs
that will again turn you in 180 degrees, but before you
go up the stairs, there is a painting with a family on
it, looks like royalty. The third floor on the right is
the library; the left is a hall with 2 rooms on the left
and 2 rooms on the right (for leveling up and just fighting).
- Straight ahead is another set of
stairs that curves so you are facing the entrance again.
- On the right of the fourth floor
is the fourth level on the library, here you can find
a book laying on the balcony that explains the city and
its people, and another one (if you can find it on the
shelves!!) tells about a certain little girl in the painting
I mentioned earlier (don’t need it to complete dungeon/quest
but is interesting and opens up a story).
- On the left is an opening (like
part of the tower broke off and there is the wall of the
ice cavern instead) that seems there should be a room
there, but it is just a wall of ice, you can see something
that seems like an open area the size a large freight
elevator, but round. And Straight is a large window, we
a very high up now, and it has a great view, but it seems
dangerous (key aspect). Once you got the book about the
city go down to the room with the old sword, once you
open the book something should *(fall out or just appear
in your inventory)*, it is a key. Use it on the shrine
lock and the sword is now take able, so take the sword.
- Rush down to the first floor and
go to the door that is burnt and basically open it, but
it should (fall off).
- The stairs leading down are carved
from rock, and it is very dark and eerie down there.
- It is like a cave, and the end of
the stairs (which are straight stairs) is a small room
carved from rock.
- On one of the walls (doesn’t
really matter as they all look the same) is a marking
that you can barely make out, it seems to be an indentation
in to the rock in the form of the sword.
- The indentation of the sword is
the hilt on the top and the tip of the blade on the bottom.
- The indentation is actually a lock
that you put the rusty sword into, the sword locks in
place, and the lock with the sword turns 90 degrees.
- Run up to the fourth floor and to
wall of ice on the side of the tower is now open, the
round elevator area has a whitish-blue color, and the
ground in made of ice.
- Portal to the top of the tower above
the ice cavern ceiling of the main cavern with all of
the buildings, but on the tower top ice is all around
it, top about 20 feet high, walls and ceiling made of
ice. Not visible from the cave part with all of the buildings.
Standing on the top of the tower. The tower top is all
white, but the center has a round red majestic looking
carpet.
- Little Girl NPC standing on the
carpet in the center of the round tower top. Talk to her
and she gives you a fire gem, then points to some stairs
carved out of the ice wall.
- Equip the rusty old sword (after
put it into the lock indent that turns, you get it back)
put the fire gem in to hilt, the hilt turns to a majestic
ivory with red gem in it. Blade disappears, instead is
a blade made of pure fire.
- Run up the long stairs and come
out on top of the mountain. Flat stone circular floor
about 100 yards in diameter, very ancient looking, hieroglyphic
looking things carved into the floor and painted. Ancient
fighting ground for the city.
- At the edge on the opposite side
of the stairs is a monster frozen in the ice and on the
other side of it is a cliff that drops to the base of
the mountain.
- The ice melts when you get close
and the monster awakes, monster deals non-elemental damage
as well as a few ice spells.
- The boss fight issues.
- Loot is winter gem (goes in hilt
of weapon to turn rusty sword’s blade to pure bluish/white
ice, hilt stays ivory), teleporting gem, lots of experience,
and if you are a mage you can now summon the monster.
- Gems that are inserted into hilt
are removable and re-accessible into the weapon.
- If it is possible you could include
other gems for this weapon into different quests across
DarkFall. Gems could include Lightening, acid, Dark, Light
(advantage against Alfar, weapon glows).
Story (found in the library)
- In the past at the close beginning
of the making of live, a city called Tor was founded as
a new beginning of live for the Humans. It was developed
at the base of a mountain in the far north.
- Royalty soon arose as a way to keep
order in the new city. Tor soon became known across the
new world as one of the most prosperous cities, and more
and more people were moving there. A king came along that
was loved among his people and he loved his city back.
He had a large family consisting of a wife, 3 sons, and
4 daughters.
- The youngest daughter’s name
was Silia, when she was about 8 years old, strange things
started happening around the city. People were disappearing
out of nowhere, the sky became different as if it was
preparing for death with the colors of purple and a dark
orange forming even during the day, and strangers started
to appear in cloaks around the city and often were dodging
people’s eyes that have seen a glimpse of them.
One day one of the strangers was asked some questions
by a person who caught up with one, he tried to get away,
but the asker had grabbed a hold of him, but got a type
of necklace instead of the man, who now had got away.
- The asker recognized the necklace
a royal symbolic item, on it was the emblem of Silia.
- More and more people were disappearing
now, the asker now arose his questions on the necklace
to the royal king himself, and it soon became public news.
- Silia was now blamed by the town
citizens for the strange things happening.
- She was protected and locked in
her room in the castle by her family, but they were starting
to doubt that Silia was really innocent, but then the
monsters came. Horrible monsters that were never before
seen in this world by man (monster that you must fight
with flame sword).
- A long fight issued between the
town and the monsters that were attacking.
- The Royal family thought the monsters
came because of Silia, they planned to sacrifice her for
the recovery of their town which everyone knew was now
doomed.
- Because of the swiftness and suprising
intelligence of these new monsters to outside world knew
nothing of what was happening at Tor.
- During what was thought to be the
last few days, a weapon was developed by an apprentice
of a lowly appreciated blacksmith, the weapon was a sword
of masculine strength by itself, but a fire gem was also
created by accident from the flames of the forge, it was
set into the hilt and the sword burst out into flames.
- The monsters are highly vulnerable
to fire, and the war was thought to be turned once this
new weapon could be mass produced, the original sword
that the apprentice forged was placed in a shrine in the
Royal Tower. The Royal family still thought they must
kill the girl in order the save themselves.
- The little 8 year old Silia knew
of the plan the kill her, before they came to her room
to do the evil deed, she snuck out and stole the fire
gem from the shrine.
- The family did not know of the missing
jewel, that mourning they came to her room and through
her out the window of the fourth floor of the Royal Tower
(the one mentioned that was important, the one that has
a wonderful view).
- The fire gem was pronounced missing
that same day, they checked the body of the girl but it
was not there, she had hidden it. the blacksmith’s
could not create another fire gem from scratch as it had
come from pure luck before.
- They knew it was the end for them
now.
- During the final battle, right before
the both sides charged, a flood of water came down from
the mountain, covering the city and all of the living
things, as it passed over them, it froze, that type of
phenomenon had never happened before in the history of
time. The little girl was thought to have caused the huge
freezing, but we shall never know; but, it is just a legend,
never thought to have…become true.
