We're pleased with the overwhelming response to the new website
and with the reaction to the new screenshots from our latest build. We've
received substantial feedback from you, and we'll
be doing the best we can to constantly improve and evolve the site. If you have
any comments and suggestions on how to make the Darkfall website better, we'd
like to hear from you.
In this space that we call 'Devspeak' we feature regular developer
interaction inspired by your comments and questions on the community
message boards While we can't answer all your questions, we do read the
boards every day and, given time, we'd like to respond to as many as we can.
BT Oren, Darkfall world designer had some things to say in response to
community questions about the Ithwen Elves.
Who are the Ithwen Elves?
An elven race called the ithwen are referred to several times in the Darkfall
lore, prompting some
speculation on the community boards.
First of all, the ithwen are not a playable race, at least not in the period
directly following Darkfall's launch. They do however have their own unique
culture, and while currently scattered,
they have played an important part in Agon's history.
After fleeing the
ravages of Far-Loradain, the ithwen have made new lives for themselves -
individually or in small groups - in the cities and towns of Agon's mainland.
Industrious, friendly, and excellent goldsmiths, they have tended to prosper
in their new homelands. The stereotypical individual runs a successful jewelry
shop in a civilized mainland town.
The Ithwen closely resemble the mirdain, but their hair is a rich golden color
and their skin has a vaguely golden hue. Ithwen eyes are always blue.
